School Age Professional Credential To Begin March 1

Registration is now open for a 120-hour School Age Professional Credential (SAPC) Course that will begin on March 1.

Learn More

The Pennsylvania School-Age Professional Credential is a competency based program modeled after the Child Development Associate (CDA). It provides individuals working in school-age programs the opportunity to examine their work in relation to the Pennsylvania School-Age Care Competency Standards.

The upcoming course, which will run March 1 through August 9, will meet on Tuesdays from 6 p.m. to 8:30 p.m., along with assigned independent study.

Eligibility

To qualify, participants must:

  • be working in a Department of Human Service regulated program working with school-age children (5-12 years-old)

  • have a minimum of a high school diploma or GED credential

  • have a completed individual professional development plan

  • have worked at least 480 hours with school-age children in the past five years

Funding for this is available through the PA Key’s Rising STARS Tuition Assistance Program. Students must apply to and be approved for a scholarship through the Rising STARS Tuition Assistance Program, which traditionally covers 95% of tuition costs.
