The roadmap will have a tentative launch in August 2022 and will feature guidance to the educational ecosystem around EIB. The promising practices are being called Equity-Inclusion-Belonging (EIB) Building Blocks and offer the opportunity to highlight practices across libraries, postsecondary/higher education, K-12, early learning, community organizations, and collaborating entities.
The PDE is inviting early childhood education (ECE) programs to consider submitting a promising practice describing an innovative way they are creating spaces for EIB and/or embedding EIB into their ECE program. The goal is to display how equity, inclusion and belonging exists in multiple demographics, learner groups and throughout communities.
Educators can submit their practices online. The PDE team will review the submissions via a rubric and will accept as many practices as possible. Submission deadline is June 3, 2022.
The PDE has created a resource with definitions of equity, inclusion and belonging to support EIB efforts.
