Fund Saving Series Available for Families

With the support from the Pennsylvania State Treasurer, Fund My Future is now available to all families in Pennsylvania to save for college and other post-secondary goals. Fund My Future provides a prize pool that makes the saving experience fun. This program is open to Pennsylvania residents who have children or grandchildren between the ages of birth to 18.

The Human Services Center and Fund My Future will host the three-part series “Better Save than Sorry” on the following dates in February:

  • Session 1: All About Fund My Future - Attend this information session to learn about the program and tools for saving for your child’s future.

    • Thursday, February 4, 2021 | 1 p.m. - 2 p.m. | Register

  • Session 2: Introduction to Savings - Attend this session with representatives from various financial institutions who will showcase their children’s savings products. Learn the difference between credit unions and banks. Learn what a PA529 College and Career Savings Plan is and how you can claim your child’s $100 starter deposit from PA Treasury’s Keystone Scholars.

    • Thursday, February 11, 2021 | 1 p.m. - 2 p.m. | Register

  • Session 3: Continuing Your Savings Journey - Fund My Future will work closely to connect attendees with the right resources to better assist them with saving for their child’s future. Attendees also will meet a financial counselor from the Financial Empowerment Center and learn about their free, one-on-one services.

    • Thursday, February 16, 2021 | 1 p.m. - 2 p.m. | Register

The Early Learning Resource Center Region 5 downtown office and satellites are open for families and professionals interested in accessing services and support. At this time, appointments are strongly preferred.

Virtual and phone appointments continue to be available for convenience and safety.

Virtual after hours personal interviews and provider orientations also are available on an as-needed basis.

ELRC Region 5 currently offers evening phone hours on the first and third Tuesdays from 5:00 to 6:30 p.m.
