COVID-19: ELRC Operations

We recognize that you have increased concerns as an early learning professional, program, family member, or relative provider in Allegheny County. Please know that your health and safety are always a priority for the Allegheny County Department of Human Services and ELRC Region 5. We ask that you read and share the following important updates with your colleagues, friends, family, and neighbors.

ELRC Region 5 offices

The Early Learning Resource Center Region 5’s physical downtown office and satellite offices are open by appointment only for families and professionals interested in accessing services and support. The South Hills Family Center location will not be opening at this time.

All staff will be required to follow guidance provided by the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention, including wearing a mask while walking through or working in communal spaces, socially distancing themselves from others, sanitizing their workspaces regularly, and maintaining proper handwashing.

It is recommended that anyone with an appointment wear a mask while visiting the ELRC Region 5 offices regardless of vaccination status. Virtual and phone appointments continue to be available for convenience and safety. Clients can contact their family specialist, family navigator or early learning program engagement specialist to coordinate their meeting to occur by phone.

In-person operations will continue to be dependent on recommendations provided by Governor Wolf and the Pennsylvania Department of Health. The ELRC Region 5 will continue to monitor these recommendations.
