New Certification Inspection Instrument & Worksheets Now Available
The Office of Child Development and Early Learning (OCDEL) has released the new Certification Inspection Instrument (CII) and Worksheets for renewal inspections of Group Child Care Homes, Family Child Care Homes, and School-Age Child Care facilities. Updates have been made to the Child Care Center CII, and the Child Care Provider Survey Facility Information Sheet and Disclosure Statement forms have been updated to be used by all facility types.

The CII supports the consistent monitoring of certification regulations. Providers should use the CII to support their own review of requirements related to: posted notices, required paperwork, transportation, ratio and supervision, and physical site.
The worksheets also help monitor compliance related to staff and child records, as Certification Representatives use these documents during the renewal inspection process.
