What: In the prenatal-to-three space, families who would most benefit from new practices or interventions are seldom genuinely involved in co-creating systemic solutions. In this webinar, presenters will discuss the concept of equity as a central focus of authentic parent collaboration and leadership. To best realize equity-focused practices for family and parent leadership, systems and organizations must set intentional goals for increasing access, removing barriers, and ensuring accountability and community safety.
During the webinar panelists will:
Share a framework that has proved useful in the context of local government to develop policy that is equity-focused and responsive to community members’ vulnerabilities and needs;
Discuss how accessibility, safety, and utility merge with the National Center for Family and Parent Leadership’s five practices for embedding equity-focused family and parent leadership; and
Share examples from parent-leaders who have worked with, and within, bureaucratic environments to create and implement equitable practices for the engagement of family and parent leaders.
When: Thursday, November 3, 1 - 2 p.m.
