Pritzer and the National Institute for Early Education Research will host "Closing the Opportunity Gap for Young Children" on Zoom.

The webinar will delve into a recent National Academies report of the same name that explores the challenges that many U.S. children face in accessing the conditions and resources necessary for healthy development. Presenters will discuss the causes, costs, and effects of the opportunity gap in children, from birth to 8 years.

The webinar will also provide an overview of how policies have created and perpetuated opportunity gaps that affect children's educational and health outcomes.

Attendees will:

  • Gain a comprehensive understanding of factors contributing to opportunity gaps among children, impacting their success, health, and future economic opportunities

  • Learn about drivers of these gaps in three key domains: education, mental health, and physical health

  • Explore actionable recommendations for policy makers and organizations aimed at closing the gaps, ensuring that all children have the opportunity to thrive
